Pickup is 90% mental and 10% physical.
Over the years of studying and implementing pickup, I have come to understand just how accurate this is. As a believer in the mental game rather than the physical game of pickup, my pickup philosophy is founded on this theory.
Let me say this again: pickup is 90% mental and 10% physical.
How Guys and Girls Approach Pickup
Guys tend to think about one thing when approaching a girl in a club – sex. Girls, however, have to put in more calculated thoughts. Below are the top 5 concerns that girls consider before leaving with a guy.
1. What will my friends think?
2. Does the guy give me an “out” so I can pretend like sex happened naturally?
3. Is there any mental spark or attraction?
4. Is the guy smart enough to lead our interaction smoothly?
5. Will the guy make me regret my decision to go home with him?
As you can see, every step of this list is mental. Girls want sex just as much as guys do, but society forces them to worry more about the implications of going through with their urges. While guys can joke about a bad experience with their friends, girls have to concern themselves with the backlash of a potentially embarrassing experience. Therefore, it is your job to consider this along with the girl by focusing on her top 5 concerns.
All things being equal, a girl will go home with an ugly guy who accounts for these top 5 concerns before a physically attractive guy who doesn’t cover any of it. I can guarantee this through my experiences in many different cultures.
So, if it Isn’t Physical, Why Don’t We See Many Ugly Guys With Attractive Girls?
The problem isn’t the looks, the problem is entirely mental. Any “ugly” guy who can get around the top 5 concerns mentioned above can get the most beautiful of girls. I’ve seen it with my own eyes countless times. However, any guy that perceives himself as ugly will likely not have the confidence to cover any of the concerns above. This Catch-22 isn’t picked up by many. The attractive guy builds confidence in himself due to his attractiveness while the ugly guy builds confidence in himself through more mental growth. An “ugly” guy who builds his confidence despite his exterior looks is a generally more complete man than a physically “attractive” man despite his mental shortcomings. An “ugly” guy who can build his confidence up will also be more likely to work around the five roadblocks mentioned above due to his mental growth and understanding.
Apply this to your friends and acquaintances. Who is picking up girls? Why? Go beyond the looks of the man and see what that guy has going for himself mentally.
No matter what side of the physical attractiveness spectrum you are on, you won’t get far unless you understand the dynamics of pickup and attraction. Stay with us and we explain in further detail exactly how to do this through our future articles.
